Yamaha Pro V 150G 1988

Running out of South Channel yesterday in Lake St Clair. Went against 2-3 ft waves all was good at half throttle for about 10 minutes when power cut to an idle. When advancing the throttle you could feel a couple of cylinder try to catch and fire then just speed above idle. Cylinders 1,3,5 have no spark confirmed with timing light back at home.

Thinking the wires on the advance lever may have flexed enough to break, but three? First time I had been at full throttle in a long time earlier in the river.

Rough water knocked something loose? I have visually looked all the harness over and connectors and see nothing out of place.

Any ideas or previous issues know?

Thanks!
Dave

Many thanks for the feedback and a happy outcome and sure everyone appreciates the knowledge, hope the cdi module wasn't too expensive, of course one always has to wonder why the module fails, given actually run time in hours is relatively low. Happy boating.

loss of power

Not sure about the 150 but on my 1998 Yamaha 90hp my #2 cyl had no spark and it ended up being the CDI unit which is very costly
