Knocking noise from camshaft area when both valves are on the rock @ BDC . Also after bottom Dead center with inlet valve is opening the exhaust valve that was closed begins to open, briefly then closes again !!

I have been told that the exhaust cam extra lift movement is a de-compression feature to assist in pull starting the engine. It is de-activated by a centrifugal mechanism once the engine starts. This could also explain the knocking when the valves are on the rock. Any comments anybody?
