Trailer up button on shifter works down not up

I replaced the trim tab switch with a new one. In the process

the drill bit I was using to enlarge the hole, came out of the drill. It fell down inside of the wiring harness fuse box area. As I was getting the drill bit, I pulled a black 10 gauge wire from somewhere. The trailer up button and the tilt trim up, button do not work. I do not find where it came loos from even after pulling the instrument panel and side storage box beneath the Throttle control. I have used mirrors, lights and as much of my mushy brain that I can...Help...somebody!...Please and VR, Thank you. VR, Skip
