Problem with white smoke/steam
Carried out loads of work such as cleaning heat exchanger , oil cooler ,changed thermostats, cleaned all pipes in connection with above , cleaned out exhaust elbow
No signs of water leak on side of engine but tops up freshwater side before trip but somehow it gets into the hull by time I back in ,
I have tasted the water in the hull and definitely fresh
Temperature reading is normal at all times but at 2900 rpm can notice white steam /smoke 3200-3500 revs and it’s a lot worse but disappears in no time

The white smoke is probably not from coolant it is unburnt fuel. I have the same problem, same engine. I have had the injectors cleaned and tested and timing checked. Exhaust system and turbo fine. No oil in the water and no water in the oil. Does not overheat or burn oil. Done 800 hours and starts on the button so compression ok. I’m going to retest the injectors then the next thing is pump out and rebuild at £700 ouch. Anyone got any clues?
