My boat try's to turn over when the key is not in it

I tried to start boat for the year and it wouldn't turn over. Then again but now it won't stop trying to turn over. I disconnected the positive wire just to get it to stop. Please help I just want to fish. P. S wife and kids at home need to fish

stuck starter

Selonoid on starter is sticking, starter may be binding on the flywheel and keep the selonoid engaged. The selonoid is a high amp switch and if the starter gear is sticking ingaged in the flywheel the engine will continue to try to start the engine.

I have the same problem, if you find out what the problem is, let me know. I will do the same if I get any info.
