I have a mid 80’s, 50 HP, 2 Cyl, Johnson
I bored it 0.040 over, Wiesco pistons, milled the head 0.100 and installed performance reeds
The compression is at 185 to 190 per cylinder and I thought this may be to much !!
To my surprise the motor did not improve in performance but just a minimum amount
I am wondering if I need to open the exhaust up more and do you have a suggestion for this and also open the throttle bores in the carburetors up more so it can breath better ??
Any advice would be appreciated
