Mercury classic 40hp 2 stroke c1989

Hello,I have just rebuilt the hydraulics on the tilt assist ram and they work really well ,however I cannot get the gas accumulator to pressurise the system although it seems to be charged,any advice would be welcome including any technical details for the accumulator on how it’s supposed to operate,many thanks Simon Wain UK
