I have a 2000 Mercury 90hp 2 stroke on a pontoon boat.
I takes a while to warm up, stalls out at idle in neutral. In gear it will not go past 2000 rpm and every once in a while an alarm will sound - a steady beep for a second or 2. It also has a constant fuel light even though the tank is full. It will go up to 5000 rpm neutral.
Bought it used, previous owner had used it 6 months prior to selling. First thing I did was drain and flush all the old gas out, sprayed some carb cleaner in the carbs. filled with high octane gas. Starts okay, takes a bit of choking though.
