Mercury, 60hp 4 Strole EFI, 2013

During removal of the lower cowl two of the screws would spin, but not come out. It feels as if the nuts, embedded in the other side of the cowl, are spinning.

I removed one with the aid of a c-clamp. I tightened the c-clamp over the area where the embedded nut should be located, applying enough pressure to stop the embedded nut from spinning.

Before I reinstall the cowl I would like to attemp some type of repair to the embedded nuts. Any ideas?
