My pontoon hasn't been run much in the past 2 years. It would not start and we felt it was a fuel problem. We rebuilt the fuel pump and replaced the fuel line hoses because of some leaking. I started motor with aid of started spray but motor accelerated to 5500 rpm without touching throttle, then died. I repeated several times same outcome. I think it could be a gummed up carburetor. I plan to drain fuel tank or put Sea Foam fuel treatment in along with new gas, could this be the solution? I would like any suggestion you have. I am disabled and unable to get it out of our lake due to low lake level.
