Mercury 4s 150 2012 1150f23hd

PANIC - when unscrewing the compression test hose from the top cylinder, the adapter somehow got loose. So when I extracted the hose the adapter piece fell into the engine !!

I briefly saw the adapter lying a few cm in front of the spark plug threads and it slided slightly to the port and disapeared into the motor.

Where did it go?
Is that hole in from of the sparkplug threads for the exhaust manifold so that it went down the exhaust tube?

What do I do?
Shall I try and fish it out with a magnet? Seems like a long way to fish? Can it get caught and make it worst?
Would it end up down in strainer filter in the exhaust tube so i can find it there?

Not too keep on driving it to a dealer as then I don't know where that adapter will move to...

I haven't touched it since.

Please help!

Yes of course I will not leave it there

I am just hoping there would be some hints on where it would end up. Instead of having to pull the whole motor apart.

My guess is it ended up in the exhaust manifold judging by this picture. I dropped it in the top slot (15) so I guess it went down the second channel from the top of the manifold.

Do anyone know for sure if there is an open hole near the spark plug threads that lead to that exhaust charnnel ?

compression mistake

If it cannot be fished out first then i would pull the head, you don't want to take any chance and ruin the engine. When you do get it out match it up to make sure you remove all of it. Good luck
