I put a new impeller unit in. Had taken off the head of the engine as well as the lower unit. The upper shift shaft became dislodged.

Now I can't get it to shift properly. Seems the best I can do is get it to shift into reverse when it is in forward position and vice-versa.

The shift control moves the shift shaft CW when viewed from the bottom end to go into Reverse. The lower unit shift shaft needs to move CCW viewed from the bottom end to get it into Reverse. Don't seem to have any way to make the shift controller rotate the shaft CCW when shifting into Reverse.
