My motor only has 48 hours on it. I use it o an 18 foot pontoon boat in a lake.
Yesterday after starting it the oli pressure light and buzzer stayed on. After about 20 seconds I shut the motor off. A few minutes later I restarted it and the buzzer and light went off in about 4-5 seconds.
My dealer was open and I called and talked to the service department manager who I believe is a knowledgeable guy.
FYI, my motor has been maintained according to Mercury requirements. The water pump impellor was changed before launch this past April along with the annual oil change and lower unit gear oil change.
The service manager said they have had this before and to go out and use the boat and only stop if the warning light and buzzer come back on.
Well, it ran fine at all RPM ranges for well over an hour and a half before we went back to the marina.
My question is if I need to get the motor checked or if this was an anomaly like the service guy said?
