I have a mercury 200 that accelerates great but on throttling back hits a point where it decelerates rapidly (30 miles per hour to 10) in the space of a few seconds with only moving the throttle by a fraction of an inch. Definitely exciting but dangerous for passengers. Any thoughts as to why this happens?
