No spark on any cylinder. Flywheel rotates at 373 rpm.
Cylinders do go up and down so assuming flywheel key is ok.
Disconnected yellow/black wire. no spark.
Disconnected rectifier. no spark.
installed new key switch. no spark.
Tested stator output using dva adapter - voltage = 145
(cdi trouble shoot says it should be 150-400, service manual says 175)
Tested stator for ground - no ground.
Tested stator ohms = 404 - (service manual says 480 plus or minus 50.
Now here is where it gets interesting - tested timer base direct from stator base (no power pack connect, all colors pink, green, blue, purple to white) One side showed 1.8-2.0 volts, the port side showed 3.0-3.7 (weird)
Here is what the cdi troubleshoot chart says:
"Then if timer base DVA is 0.6 - 2.5 V, the pack is faulty."
Can I assume my power pack is faulty??
I know my stator readings are on the low side...but still pretty close to what they should be.
I really need some help as no one around me will work on a motor this old (1996) This motor ran great until this season. Looks like a new motor. Took it out 3-10 times per season. Bought new.
(ps - I am hearing different things regarding how fast the flywheel should spin when starting. I am at 373 rpm and it sounds just like it did when it used to run (beginning of this summer..) It is the original starter though.)
thanks! jp
