My tilt trim was stuck down due to low fluid. The relief valve was boogered up so I couldn't release the pressure and get the motor up. I drilled through the relief valve to release the pressure. I got through, fluid came out and I was able to get the motor up. Problem is a new valve won't work now. I'm not sure why, but it won't. I don't think I drilled through too far to hurt anything in the bottom of the unit, as the unit works the motor up and down but I can't seal the opening and fluid leaks out pretty fast. Is there anything left i can do besides replace the tilt-trim unit?
