I have a 28 foot maxum. It seems as the power steering system is not working. The actuator and power steering pump where just replaced. The cable seems to move freely with the cable disconnected from the actuator. Is there something I am missing in the install of the pump & actuator?...Adjustment maybe?

7.4 Mercruiser Fuel Injected Bravo 1 outdrive, Wants to go hard left when you give it throttle. Really have to hold tight to the wheel and try to steer right to keep it straight. But if you let off the gas and you have any pressure on the wheel to the right, the wheel will yank right. Very dangerous. I think I have a hydraulic problem. Replaced hydraulic cylinder but no joy.

I own a 1978 Tiara Sport Salon 25' Flybridge model. My last time on the boat, in October, the steering cable broke. She is powered with an OMC 800 outdrive, and the part number is 979919 on the steering cable. I am having difficulty finding one, and I'm wondering if this can be retrofit with a different brand name. Teleflex seems to be the brand I see most out there. Can anyone help?

I want to repair my trailer and transom on a 1984 Skeeter Starfire w/150hp Mariner. I have repair manuals for the motor and have purchased DIY manuals as well - but none of them share much information about removing the outboard from the hull (specifically the steering linkage). How does the linkage disconnect from the motor?

I just took delivery of a new boat with twin Volvo Penta (430 hp) Duo prop stern drives. The boat is equipped with the Volvo Penta Joy stick. At the dock, I pressed the docking button and nothing happens. I get a message on the monitor "low voltage to steering actuator" As well on powering up, the port engine will not go over 3000 rpm. Any thoughts? The boat has brand new batteries, 2 cranking and one house. I believe all wires were connected properly and all breaker fuses are ok. Is there a specific fuse or relay to the steering actuator or the joy stick?

Great sight! I have an older model Cajun fishing boat. It has a 1991 Yahama Pro V 150 on it. The engine runs good but the problem I have is with the steering. As the boat gains speed, the boat wants to dramatically steer right. I have adjusted the motor fin, but it has no effect on it. I have also check the mount on the engine and all seems to be good. As the boat is still, weather in the water or not, the steering is fine. The problem exists and gets worse as the boat gain speed. Is it possible that one of the cables are rusted on the inside? I don't know. Any help would be appreciated

I have a problem with the steering inboard motor. I don't think it's the cables, could it be the hydrolic piston or power steering pump.
