2004 Volvo Penta 5.0L GXI Tachometer stopped working

Hi all, I don't have the engine manual yet, but I did order one. Until it arrives, has anyone else had the problem with the tachometer not working? I'm just now beginning to open up the panels in my Larson 214 Escape to look for any obvious problems. I thought by posting the question here I might get lucky and find someone who may have encountered the same issue. I welcome any information or advice(other than sell it and quit boating). Thanks in advance!
