I have a 1976 55 Evinrude thats runs good and gets on plane but will not go full speed untill the fuel tank is almost empty then it will throw you back in your seat and skip along the water. Is this a air/fuel mixture issue or possibly jets flooding. I had work done to the carbs by a mechanic that drilled my jets. the problem at that time was the motor would bog when I gave it full throttle. Now it doesnt bog just isnt as fast as it should be untill almost out of fuel do you think he made the hole to big. I have been trying to figure this out for a year now
