Ok I have a 1990 Imperial with a Volvo a Penta 290 duo prop out drive on it, the 1trim ram is leaking thus causing the out drive to slowly come down, after speaking with a few mechanics I hear its a nightmare to remove the trim ram and that's if I could find a replacement, now I keep the boat in marina year round and block at marimba so it's not trailered at all, I don't want to appear as an idiot but what else is the trim ram used for besides lifting it for trailering or yo possibly fix it if damaged. My only question is when the boat is put in reverse does the trim ram do something to not let the out drive raise when it's in reverse, thanks in advance for any and all help.
