Overheated replaced impeller which was destroyed boat ran great fo 3-4 weeks got stuck in sea grass didn’t seem that it overheated but after temperature gauge would fluctuate from 160-180 while cruising 3000 rpm’s at idle steady 160 degrees. A few weeks later noticed milkshake in oil pulled intake manifold didn’t see anything changed oil. Oil looked good went for ride 15 minutes checked oil was fine on dip stick but inside left valve cover where oil fill is was starting to milkshake again. What is the most common failure on this engine?

Hi Stan. It would appear that coolant water is leaking into the oil somewhere, and that is how the milkshake starts and is common after an overheated engine, perhaps a head gasket is cracked or head itself is cracking or some seal. I am not sure whether a tech can pressure test the cooling system to verify the leak.
