I have a pair of what I think are 2022 DF9.9 B (Xlong shaft, remote control, power tilt) motors on a sailboat. Less than 200 hours. Out of the blue, one of them will not turn off, even with removing the clip on the emergency shut down. Problem started suddenly, no apparent damage to any parts. Starts and runs normally.
I can shut it down by disconnecting a ground wire or by just letting the fuel run out. That takes 15-20 minutes because of the size of the reservoir under the cowling.
As far as I can tell from the low resolution wiring diagram I can find online, an orange wire goes from the key switch and the emergency switch direct to the ECU. That wire appears to carry the shut down signal.
My motor is slung under my sailboat and it's very difficult to access.
