Last month ,after trolling for about 20 minutes, decided to reel up and move up lake some. After about 1 minute at 3/4 throttle I heard this ticking sound from motor then pop pop sputter pop pop. The motor died back to idle but wouldn't throttle back up. When I tried it was clear it was running on one cylinder. It would run normally in gear at idle and a little more but thats it. I slowly made it back to the boat ramp without a problem. Bought a maintenance kit, found that one of the spark plugs had failed. Tested in a water barrel. Started right up gave it a little throttle , good to go. At the lake the motor won't go past 1/4 throttle without dying back but running on both cylinders now. I should add that I'm kind of obsessed with always using fresh gas and always use correct amount of StaBil. I took apart the hi pressure fuel pump. Spotless but still cleaned everything with carb cleaner. Blew out all fuel lines, replace external fuel lines and fittings then back to lake. Same. ??? Tested in water barrel today and heard a noise kind of like a little air horn coming from the hose between the hi pressure fuel pump and the injectors. I squeezed the line testing for pressure but the noise had stopped but then returned after about 30 seconds for about 5 seconds. This repeats at random durations and you can feel a distinct vibration on that fuel line when its happening. I should also add that I replaced the low pressure fuel pump. I sure could use some advise ; thanks.
