Nothing wrong with the engine. Just a question on Lithium batteries. I am looking at replacing one of my two batteries with a Lithium battery. Primarily for weight savings on the rear of the boat and I like the life span of the lithium battery.
However, I have read that if the alternator charges at over 15 volts the BMS on a lithium battery will shut it down which can cause feed back and burn out the charging assembly and worse. I have a friend who runs one lead acid and one lithium on the dual position in his Perko switch and has had no problems. He is running a Suzuki 300. So if the Lithium goes of line the charger still has a clear path to the lead acid batteries and no feed back is produced. Not that this has happened to his outfit, it has not, it's just a safety thing. Which I agree with. Wondering if anyone else out there is running lithium batteries on their Suzuki's and if so what the set up is.
Thanks, Steve
