Mercury 225 efi 2001

Very sporadic alarm.

May go into alarm, beep, beep beep or not, when ignition turned on.
This can happen while on the trailer without being started.
It may not go into alarm for days or weeks and then again it may go into alarm every time the key is turned on.
It's not the 4 beep low oil alarm and it's not the constant beep overheat alarm.

It's very sporadic.

I've changed the fuel/water separator and bypassed the oil tank sensor.

I've thought it was fixed more than once but it always come back at some point.

My Mercury guy says there are only 2 alarms for this motor. Low oil and overheat. He doesn't find anything about a constant beeping.

Motor runs great always starts and screams across the water. I've been on plan for more than 10 minutes at a time with no issues.

Any ideas as to the cause of the beeping?
