Honda BF40A Model BAYS3700315 2008

Hey everyone, first time poster in need of some help.

We have a Honda BF40A Model BAYS3700315 that is giving us some issues. I think it is a 2008.

The engine will crank and not turn over and the computer board gets very hot when doing so. Replaced the computer part once last year and we are still having the same issue.

I apologize for the vagueness of the issue description, I dont know my way around outboards thats for sure.

I run with an all volunteer search and rescue team in the Philly area. We dont have a ton of funds to send it out so we are looking to try and handle it ourselves, if possible.

it was running then the CDI piece got fried. thats has been replaced. now there is power on the engine tilt when hooked to the battery, but nothing happens when turning the key. no noise, no nothing. im guessing electrical?

Hi,
so in the past the engine was not running, you guys replaced the comp.board and it started to work?
Is that the history?
In my books comp.board (CPU) would be 99th on a list to think about why a motor is not running.
