I have a 3-bank AC battery charger that the previous owner installed on my sailboat by cutting the 3-prong plug off and splicing on to 14-3 marine wire to the AC breaker panel. I need to install a new AC charger that is compatible for my new LiFePO4 batteries, and I assume that cutting off the 3-prong plug and splicing the wires together is not legal. I want to wire it to my AC panel breaker but don't know what the proper marine connection is to make the tie in. The charger and batteries are at the stern and the panel is in the nav station.
Thank you for your help.
