My 40 HP 1989 Evinrude motor is odd, I can crank it over and over and it will not start, I have checked for spark and there is no spark. I let it sit for 30 minutes go back out and it fires right off. It has even started when I had one of the two plugs out testing for spark. It happens when it is cold and hot out. I have disengaged the kill switch as I thought that was the problem. Nope. The more you turn it over when it doesn't start the longer you have to wait to try and start it again. Then it will start right up. The good news is when it starts it will start the rest of the day. Just seems to happen if I don't run it for a week or so. Why would that make it not spark? I am at a loss. Thanks
