I have a 1979 mercury 140 HP outboard that is very hard starting when cold. Seems to be a fuel issue. When starting for the first time of the day or after sitting on the water after cooling down. Seems like if you give it a shot of gas in the bottom carb it starts right up . I've heard that these engine were known for hard starting . Doe's anyone have any suggestions or quick remedies for this issue?
