150 HP Yamaha OB will turn over but won't start. Kill Switch issue?

My 2001 Yamaha Ox66 OB turns over but doesn't fire off. I can mess around with the ignition switch wire terminals and the kill switch wiring terminals and it will finally start. could the kill switch be shorting out and causing the engine to not start?

yes it can also might not just be bad kill switch but corroded wies going to it i had that prob already previous owner use reg 16 guage wire not marine wire cause marine wire is alot more money cause its tined check resistance on your kill switch wires with a ohom meter or get help to do it henry08@live.com
